Pavement Evaluation

Pavement evaluation includes many different activities, such as distress or condition surveys, materials testing, deflection testing, and other specialized types of data collection. Pavement evaluation is commonly performed prior to the project design phase, and the information that is collected is an important part of the design process. However, routine evaluations of a pavement network may be carried out as part of a monitoring program.
